During the healing process it is very normal to experience tenderness and slight redness. Due to the use of an anesthetic to ease the discomfort, a white halo may appear around the treated area and will disappear in an hour or so after the appointment.
If you see some dark pieces of pigment, do not be alarmed as this is the process of exfoliation and is totally normal. Once the exfoliation of your enhancement starts it is very important to NOT PICK, PEEL, or TOUCH the enhancement with your bare hands as it can lead to infection. Use a Q-Tip to apply petroleum jelly to the treated area. Concentrated pigment focused on a certain area on your enhancement is due to the process of healing and is completely normal so please do not be alarmed. It is best to let the healing process happen naturally for the best end result.

Daily Care to Follow for 1 week
• Apply a thin layer of aftercare cream throughout the healing process as needed for a week (or until brows are almost done peeling) to keep the treated area moist. Please wash your hands before applying the product. Use a clean Q-tip on each side to prevent cross contamination. If you experience excessive itching, swelling or any blistering please stop the usage of your aftercare ointments and contact your technician immediately.
• We recommend that you use a gentle facial cleanser to cleanse your skin. Preferably one that doesn’t contain AHA, glycolic, lactic acids, or Retin-A products as they will fade the pigmentation. Please do not cleanse directly on the brows during the first week. Do not splash water on your face.

• To prevent your enhancement from getting wet, apply a thick layer of Vaseline to your enhancement when washing your hair to prevent it from becoming wet. Gently wipe off the Aftercare cream with cotton swabs.

• If your enhancement gets wet, gently pat the area dry using a clean tissue or towel.

• Keep your hair away from your enhancement to prevent the possibility of infection.

• Please allow for the enhancement to naturally flake. It is also normal to experience itching. DO NOT PEEL, PICK, or RUB the enhancement as this will make it heal uneven and may cause infection.

• Don’t undergo any skincare beauty treatments for at least 5 days after the application of your enhancement.

• No make-up should be applied close to your enhancement during this time. Please also avoid any products that contain Aloe Vera or Vitamin E at this time.

• Avoid excessive sweating (gym, outdoor sports/activities etc.)

Avoid for 2 weeks:
• Please avoid having direct sunlight on your enhancement. No tanning treatments, jacuzzis, saunas, salt water, chlorine water, gym (avoid excessive sweating) or recreational bodies of water.

• Do not tint, wax, or do peels, electrolysis, or laser hair removal treatments around the treated area.

Long-term Care:
• The sun can damage and fade your treated area so take care of your enhancement by investing in a good sunscreen with a healthy dose of at least SPF15.

• If you are thinking of having a chemical peel, laser procedure, or an MRI scan inform the technician of your permanent cosmetics.

• If you decide to donate blood within a year after your treatment notify the national blood service before as this can affect your ability to donate.

Important notes:
• After the initial 14 days, the color you have chosen will fade and begin to appear more natural.

• Typically, healing should take up to about 14 days, though this can vary case by case due to the fact that some may take longer due to stress, a poor diet, or their immune system is compromised.

• Uneven color after the initial treatment is to be expected. In order to ensure the best outcome, we recommend a second session to complete the desired result.

• How well you follow the aftercare instructions and maintain your eyebrows on a daily basis will determine the longevity of your tattoo.

• After you leave, I recommend that ice packs be applied for 10 to 15 minutes each hour for the first 2-3 hours following the procedure. The ice is used to reduce swelling and provide comfort. After the first 24 hours, the use of ice is no longer beneficial.

• Wipe the lip with moisten cotton pad every 30 minutes and apply healing ointment. Removing lymph fluid and blood will prevent formation of a scab.

• No soap, cleanser or shampoo on the treated area for seven (7) days. Soap and cleansers are designed to remove any foreign substances. Evidently, this is detrimental to the bonding process required for the pigment to become permanent. Toothpaste and mouthwash are considered “soap” and will remove lip color, so proceed with caution when using.

• All cleansing should be done with a clean Q-tip dipped in cool water and gently dabbed on the treated area. Do not rub the area in any way.

• Apply the Brows, Eyes & Lips ointment with a Q-tip in the procedure area during the healing process to keep the lips moist. Apply to the treated area with a Q-tip several times per day. This is to be done in a gentle dabbing motion as not to disrupt the pigmentation bonding process. This will keep the area moist and accelerate the healing. Do not let the area dry out, keep moist at all times. Apply an extra heavy coat of ointment to the treated area before bedtime, bath, washing of adjacent areas, and immediately upon rising in the morning. If any form of redness, tenderness. Drainage, fever or rash occurs, please contact your health care provider immediately!

• Baths and showers are permitted but do not wash, scrub or touch the treated area. Hot, steamy baths and showers should be avoided completely. After two weeks. You may resume all regular activities.

• When brushing teeth for the first three (3) days, coat lips with a lot of ointment before brushing and use a minimal amount of toothpaste.

• For the first two (2) days, use a straw when drinking liquids; avoid sandwiches, biting into fruit or food that might cause friction to the lips. Smoking is discouraged for optimal results.

• Do not use any lipstick or cosmetics on or near the treated area for seven (7) days. If or whenever you do begin using cosmetics again, invest in a new lipstick to support your new look. This will eliminate the possibility of bacteria breeding in an old container.

• For at least two (2) weeks, you need to minimize exposure to the sun. I discourage swimming in fresh, salt or chlorinated pool water.

• If you use Retin-A, do not allow to close to the treated area for thirty (30) days. It will cause the area to peel and lighten.

• Since your procedure is facial, I recommend you sleep on a clean satin pillowcase for seven (7) nights. This will minimize the loss of pigmentation caused by rubbing against a cotton, textured pillowcase as you sleep.

• Special care should be exercised while the treated area is healing. Under no circumstance should you pick, scratch or rub the treated area or attempt to remove the crusty material. Removing of the crusts may result in the removal of the actual pigment and/or infection may occur. Always use good health habits.

• Variations to these recommendations are not encouraged and will most likely affect the final outcome of your procedure, it not totally remove the implantations.

• Healing of lips takes about 3-7 days. Immediately following the procedure, your lip color may look much brighter, but it will soften up and look more natural as you heal.

• It is recommended to wait at least 6 weeks for touch up.

• If you have any questions after you get home, feel free to call or text.

Eyeliner aftercare instructions
Proper care following your procedure is necessary to achieve the best results. Keep in mind that in many cases, some unevenness of color is to be expected. This is the purpose of the touch-up visit. After 3-4 hours from your procedure, use sterile water and cotton gauze to wipe the affected area. For the next 10 days, keep the affected are completely dry. NO heavy sweaty, NO make-up, NO cream, NO mascara. Disposable Ice packs may be applied as necessary to reduce swelling.

Approximate Daily healing schedule
1. You may experience slightly puffy to swollen eyes, heavy lids, light sensitivity and bloodshot pupils. Your eyes may feel more swollen than they appear. Please try to sleep in an elevated position to help reduce swelling at night. You may not want to use your best pillowcase 2 nights.

2. Eyes will be swollen and perhaps “crusty” upon waking. The swelling will disappear from being in an upright position and increase circulation to the area. Avoid heavy lifting, physical exertion, and crying.

3. Pigment within the epidermis will begin to flake off in the little stitch looking lines, although some people do not notice the exfoliation at all. Do not scratch/ pick.

4. Blinking help to eliminate the small pieces of pigment and epidermis which has detached. Do not scratch / pick.

5. All shedding should be complete. You’re safe to put your face back to the shower spray.

Q: How long does the procedure take and WHY?
A: 2-2.5 hours depending on each shaping/skin scenario. Correction may take longer.
First part of the appointment entails in the shaping/mapping of the brows which can take anywhere from 30mins to 1 hour. After client approves the shape, we move on with the tattooing process. I will first do the outline, numb the treatment area for 10 minutes, then work on the shading. Numbing can be applied throughout the procedure to ease discomfort for those with sensitive pain tolerance or to stop any bleeding. I make sure to keep checking that the brows are even throughout the entire tattooing process.

Q: How long will my eyebrows last?
A: 1-3 years. It is recommended that you use sunscreen or moisturizer with SPF of at least 15 to avoid your brows from fading too rapidly. It is not recommended to use harsh chemical skincare products that will cause color to lighten; avoid brow area when using those products.

Q: Are you trained and certified?
A: Yes, I have been trained and certified by FuzionArtistry, Everlasting Brow by Jenn Boyd, Daria Churpry Berverly Hill, Luxury Beauty Academy by Lynn Nguyen, and Brows by May.
I also have a certificate for BloodBorne Pathogens and have registered with the LA County Health Department for Body Art Practitioner.

Q: Do you recommend a yearly refresher?
A: No. If your brows do not need a touch-up, I would recommend you wait as long as you can to avoid your skin from being overworked. We want to avoid your skin from being damaged or potential scarring. In conclusion, a touch-up is recommended when necessary, but definitely not yearly.

Q: How long is the healing time?
A: Brows: Typically 7-14 days (or longer) depending on the person. It is important that you follow the proper aftercare during this time to avoid any infection or color loss/damage.
Lips: About 3-7 days
Eyeliner 3-7 days

Q: Is the procedure painful?

A: There will be minimal to no pain. Topical aesthetic is applied before and during the procedure.

Q: Do you reuse any supplies or equipment?
A: Absolutely not. Every supply I use are disposable for one-time use. Any equipment that is not disposable will be wrapped and covered properly for sanitation to avoid cross contamination. I take the proper steps to a safe and sanitary work environment for both myself and my clients.

Q: Do I get to choose my brow shape?
A: Yes, I will ask you your preference on the shape and color. I will also give me professional opinion on what I think looks good with the natural hair growth of your brows, face shape/structure, brow bone, etc. We will not proceed with the tattoo until client is 100% satisfied with the shape.

Q: Is a first touch-up recommended?
A: Yes, a touch-up session (after your initial appt) is recommended to perfect the shape and to go over any areas where pigment did not retain. If client’s skin held up the color and shape well, touch-up will not be necessary. You may send me updates of your healed brows for assessment before booking your touch up if you feel like you do not need to come in for one. I have a set touch-up pricing for different time frames that you may choose from.

Q: Can I get my brows wet or sweaty?
A: It’s recommended that you keep your treated area dry from any water or sweat during the healing process to avoid infection or color loss/damage. Try to avoid sweat for at least one week before getting back to your normal work out routine. When showering, avoid direct contact with the water (OK to apply thick layer of vaseline and gently wipe off after shower). No sun exposure, swimming, pools, saunas, tanning during the healing process.

Q: Can I wear makeup to my appointment?
A: That is entirely up to you. I will be constantly wiping off pigment so there will be loss in your makeup product(s) after the procedure is complete. You may feel free to bring makeup to do a touch up (around the brows) before I take photos for my portfolio.

Q: How much do you charge if I need a touch up when initial session was done by another artist?

A: This will count as new set of brows and you will be charged full price. But don’t hesitate to schedule a consultation, and I will see if I can help you with anything .
